PLA or ABS? The Right Material for Your 3D Project

PLA is the most commonly used 3D printing material. It offers high print quality, clean surfaces, and ease of processing. This makes it ideal for decorative items, models, prototypes, and many standard applications.

ABS is particularly robust and heat-resistant. It is the material of choice for technical components, housings, and functional applications where higher loads or temperatures may occur.

Our tip: PLA is the best choice for most applications. However, if maximum stability and heat resistance are required, we recommend ABS.

Quality, Dimensional Accuracy, and Tolerances

Since the part is built up layer by layer, fine layer lines are visible on the surface. These are a normal and unavoidable characteristic of the 3D printing process and do not constitute a quality defect. Their visibility may vary depending on the part's geometry, material, and print orientation.
