In order for a drainage system to function reliably, sufficient ventilation must be ensured. If ventilation is not guaranteed, negative pressure can build up in the pipe system. This negative pressure causes the sealing water in the siphon to be sucked out. As a result, sewer gases can enter the rooms unhindered and cause unpleasant odors and hygiene problems.

The Marley pipe aerator prevents precisely this negative pressure and ensures that the sealing water closures in washbasins, showers, bathtubs or WC facilities are reliably protected. The air release valve opens automatically in the event of negative pressure, allowing air to flow into the pipe system and creating the necessary pressure equalization. In the event of ambient or excess pressure, it remains closed and prevents sewer gases from escaping.
